Llano Crawfish Open

Boiled Crawfish, Bar-B-Que,
Jambalaya, Potatoes, and Corn
will be served at the Llano Park, adjacent to the Golf Course.
Serving 11am-7pm Friday & Saturday - Saturday afternoon meal availability
limited.
The
Llano Crawfish Open began in 1989 as the brainstorm of a group of
Beaumont hunters and local Llanoites. Over the years a friendship
began between the two groups and from this friendship the Llano Crawfish
Open was born.
The
idea was to have a golf tournament and afterwards cook some "Crawfish"
and bar-b-que. The two groups decided that any money that was raised
from the event would be used to purchase a motorized wheelchair for
a local man who suffered from M.S. After all was said and done, everyone
had such a good time that it was decided to do it again the next year.
As
with all new events there was a period of trial and error. Over the
next few years the event grew larger that anybody could have ever
anticipated. The group became more focused in what their long term
goal was and in what direction they wanted to go.
In
setting this goal they all realized a very real need in the Llano
County area-The Llano Special Opportunity Center, a facility for mentally
and physically challenged adults. Though the center receives a limited
amount of funding from the state their needs are still great and the
remainder must come from community funds. With this in mind the goal
was clear. The Llano Crawfish Open would pledge to be an ongoing supporter
of the Llano Special Opportunity Center.
The
Crawfish Open is bigger and more successful each year thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and you, the visitors who come and have fun with us!
